SummerFest: ’80s Mega Mix Weekend
by kristen brooks
The ’80s are back in FULL effect this weekend for two days as the SummerFest: ’80s Mega Mix Weekend brings the noise to Mohegan Sun.
Tonight you catch Trixter (One in a Million), Firehouse (Love of a Lifetime), and Warrant (Cherry Pie).
Tomorrow’s festivities will begin at noon and will continue until 11 p.m. DO NOT miss this AMAZING opportunity to see the man who gave us (St. Elmo’s Fire) Mr. John Parr, Tommy Tutone (Jenny / 867-5309), When in Rome UK (The Promise), Animotion (Obsession), and A Flock of Seagulls (I Ran).
Also performing throughout the weekend will be a host of local bands as well as Rock Steady: A Tribute to Bad Company, 11After – All Female Rock Band, Drive: Cars Tribute Band, Talk of the Town: Pretenders Tribute Band, and Elliot Lewis formerly of Hall & Oats Band.
Besides totally rad music, the entire weekend will be filled with GREAT contests and activities. I’m talking about air guitar contests, ’80s trivia, mohawk and mullet contests, big hair contests, an ’80s look-a-like contest and much more.
Oh..and did I mention that yours truly will be there on Saturday from 6-10, so make sure to stop by the FM 92.1 tent and say hello!
SummerFest is bringing our ’80s favorites starting tonight at 5 p.m, and tomorrow at noon.
Tickets are just $10 each day or $15 for a two day pass. You do have to be 21 years of age or older for this event.
And, just like any good music festival…SummerFest will take place rain or shine!
