Thinking about adopting? Fostering? Volunteering? Or Donating?

This Saturday, June 30th from 12pm-4pm; you can check out Shelterfest 2012, which is being held at Griffin Pond Animal Shelter in South Abington Twp is an AWESOME opportunity for you to learn more about the shelter, and everything they have to offer.

As a proud mommy of a shelter dog (you can check out his FB page: Baxter Rock).  I can’t stress enough how important it is to raise awareness and to educate the community about animal shelters like Griffin Pond.

It costs over $800,000 a year to operate the shelter, and Griffin Pond receives no support from federal, state or county funding.  They also don’t get any support from the ASPCA or the Humane Society. The shelter is funded solely by donations made by the community.

ShelterFest is all about raising funds, educating and informing, and being able to introduce the amazing animals that are just looking for their FURever homes.

If you check out Shelterfest 2012, you can expect a red carpet doggie runway, live music, food, raffle prizes, vet and grooming demos, a guinea pig race, a bake sale, and a craft sale. You can also learn more about the new foster care program that Griffin Pond has to offer.

You’re furry friends are welcome to attend as long as they’re friendly and on a leash.

Details: Free admission; donations and supplies are encouraged. For more information, click here.
