Wyoming Valley Riverfest is HERE
RiverFest kicks off tonight, and continues through Sunday. It takes place along the banks of the Susquehanna River and each year, thousands of river enthusiasts turnout to paddle, kayak, canoe and just hang out on the waterway.
The annual event attracts more than 5,000 people and features musical entertainment, children’s activities and educational programming.

Wilkes-Barre River Common (5pm- 9pm) You can join the opening ceremonies and the Dragon Boat Teams as they Awaken the Dragon! Concerts on the Commons, free family fishing on the pier, paint a community mural, food vendors and more! Live musical performances from Three Imaginary Boys, Tribes, & George Wesley.
Paddle the Susquehanna River from West Pittston to Wilkes-Barre (5pm-7pm) - See info below to sign up for River Trips.
Saturday, June 23, 2012 – Nesbitt Park (12pm- 5pm)
Enjoy an afternoon of fun and activities for all ages! Children’s Art & Nature Programs, Live Mammals & Birds of Prey Program, and live music performed by Don Shappelle and the Pick-Ups. There will be a kids tree climb, pony rides (12:30-4pm), and moon bounce. Plus, guided nature hikes, kayaking demos, and Dragon Boat team training.
- 1:30pm Live Mammals of the Watershed Program in Nesbitt Park
- 3:30pm Live Birds of Prey Program in Nesbitt Park
Paddle the Susquehanna River from Harding to Wilkes-Barre (8am-2pm)
Car show on the Commons (6pm – 9pm)View classic cars from NEPA with the Antique Automobile Club of America along with a Chevy Volt Electric/Gas Automobile.
Concert on the Commons (6pm – 9pm) Without Walls Dance Company & Flash Back will be performing hits from the 60′s, 70′s and 80′s!

Dragon Boat Racing (10am – 3pm) Check out the local Dragon Boat Teams as they race on the Susquehanna in front of the River Common in Wilkes-Barre. Join KRZ as they call the Dragon Boat Races and broadcast from the River.

- Friday, June 22 – Evening Paddle from West Pittston to Wilkes-Barre – Shuttle busses leave Nesbitt Park Friday afternoon at 4pm
- Saturday, June 23 – Northern Wyoming Valley – Daylong paddle from Harding to Wilkes-Barre – Shuttle busses leave Nesbitt Park at 7:3oam
- Sunday, June 24 – Southern Wyoming Valley – Daylong paddle from Wilkes-Barre to Hunlock Creek – Shuttle Busses leave Hunlock Creek (Drive-Inn Theatre) at 7:45am
